EVENTS 2022

The Events page has been updated with details of the 2022 programme now available. Unfortunately, it has been decided to  CANCEL THE MEETING SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY 11TH JANUARY 2022. Members have been notified by email where possible but please spread the word.

AGM 2021 - Tuesday 9th November

Guest speaker Paul Baxter from Nan's Jams gave an entertaining talk on the challenges of growing their produce on high ground near Tynehead. A good turnout ensured some tasty produce was bought by members. 

Annual Society Dinner was held on Friday 26th November at The Stair Arms Hotel was a most enjoyable evening.

ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW 2021 - SATURDAY 28th AUGUST

The Show must go on - and it did! It was wonderful to see so many people submitting entries for the Show and a good turnout of people coming to the hall to admire their efforts and re-connect with friends and neighbours. The glorious sunny day was an added bonus. Well done to all exhibitors and a huge thank you to the volunteers and members who made it happen. The 2021 Garden Competition was judged on 1st August by Mrs Gladys Hardwick of Dalkeith Horticultural Society and Mr Billy McCormack was awarded Best Garden. A photograph is available under the Gallery page so you can see this beautiful winning garden! Many other garden owners have been issued with Highly Commended Certificates for their attractive and colourful displays. Well done everyone!

SUMMER PICNIC 2021

The Summer Picnic in July at Preston Hall Walled Garden was well attended and this format proved so popular we plan to hold a Picnic in future years.  Photographs of the walled garden are now available under the Gallery entitled 2021 Summer Picnic.

GARDEN OUTING 2021

The visit to Amisfield Walled Garden near Haddington was enjoyed by several members on a lovely sunny afternoon. A Gallery of photographs is now available.
